Fulham are expected to sign Parma full back Antonio Benarrivo on Friday after he lowered his wage demands.
The deal was reported to be off yesterday when it was claimed Benarrivo had failed a medical.
But Benarrivvo, who can play on either flank, insists he will move to London, , which would see him join fellow Italian Franco Baresi - Fulham's technical director - at Craven Cottage.
"I have accepted an inferior contract to expectations," said Benarrivo told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"But the economic factor is a definite second to my enthusiasm for this new experience."
The 33-year-old defender, capped 23 times, is available on a free transfer after winning the UEFA Cup and the Italian club in over a decade with Serie A
club Parma.
Benarrivo`s agent Federico Pastorello feels the deal
will go through shortly and also shot down reports that
claimed his client had failed a medical.
The former Italian international will now be looking
for a swift conclusion to his transfer from Parma in
order for him to link up with Cottagers boss Jean Tigana
for pre-season training
