Fulham transfer target, Roma striker Vincenzo Montella, arrived in London on Wednesday evening. Coincidentally, or not, Fulham were playing Charlton in London on the same evening.

If he made the Fulham - Charlton game it would have been just for the second half as his flight from Rome was late taking off.

Fortunately for Chris Coleman Montella's late arrival meant that the Roma striker would have missed the first half Christmas pantomime put on by Fulham's defence.

Thursday morning saw the start of the Harrods sale so perhaps Mohamed Al-Fayed, owner of Harrods and Fulham, was also in a buying mood.

Although a deal is still not done it seems that Roma fans are already arranging a goodbye celebration for one of their favourites.
