Fulham are considering fewer than 10 candidates as potential successors to manager Jean Tigana when the Frenchman's contract expires in the summer and David O'Leary has not made it on to the shortlist.

O'Leary, who has been out of the game since leaving Leeds last year, said: "They would be interested in what I've got to say and I'd like to hear what they've got to say."

But Fulham are looking for someone cheaper with a successful track record working on a limited budget. Former Watford and Chelsea manager Ginaluca Vialli has also failed to make the shortlist.

Fulham say they will not be rushed into making an appointment and the final decision will lie with chairman Mohamed Fayed, whose move to Switzerland for tax reasons last week will not affect the club.
