Fulham release six players

Fulham Football Club have announced that six players have been released at the end of the 05/06 season.

The most senior of the released players are Alain Goma and Facundo Sava.

Goma, who had 148 starts after joiningg from Newcastle in March 2001 but only two appearances in 2006.

Fulham had hoped to extend the 33-year-old's contract, which expires this summer, but negotiations reached stalemate and the decision has been made to let him go.

Goma was the club's record signing in 2001 when he agreed a £4million move from Newcastle, but frequently saw his career in west London interrupted by injury.

Striker Sava has not featured for Fulham for more than two years, having joined the club for £2million from Gimnasia de Jujuy in the summer of 2002.

He scored seven goals in 24 outings for the Cottagers and more recently has been on loan with Celta Vigo and Deportivo Lorca in Spain.

They are joined by youngsters Adam Green, Neale McDermott, Robert Watkins and Richard De Villiers.
