CHELSEA have agreed to let Jon Harley move
across West London to Fulham in a £3.5 million deal, providing the
talented young defender passes a medical at Craven Cottage.
The arrival of left-sided Barcelona ace Boudewijn Zenden has allowed Blues
coach Claudio Ranieri to cash in on the England Under-21 international,
although some Chelsea fans may be disappointed to see one of their few
homegrown stars leave Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms with his new club and
will become Jean Tigana's latest impressive capture, following Edwin van
der Sar's switch from Juventus.
A Premiership debut at Old Trafford awaits the full back, who had a loan
spell with Wimbledon last season, as the newly-promoted Cottagers kick
off against champions Manchester United.

Another product of the
FA School of Excellence, Harley is a pacy and skilful left-sided
player who seized his chance to impress when both Graeme Le Saux
and Celestine Babayaro were unavailable midway through the 1999-00
season.
He signed a new contract in that period that would keep him at Stamford
Bridge until 2003.
Most Famous For: Reportedly earning only £250 per month
despite being an occasional member of the first team.
