Fulham want to take Newcastle United midfielder Gary Speed to London.
Speed, who will be 34 in September, has already been earmarked as a future manager of the Welsh international team.
And one of his former Welsh colleagues Chris Coleman has just taken over as manager of Fulham.
In addition, Fulham skipper Andy Melville - the former Sunderland central defender - also happens to be a Welsh international.
Fulham will undoubtedly point out to Speed that his contract with United is up at the end of next season and as yet there have been no talks to extend his deal.
