Fulham could save Bournemouth from going bust with a £5million move for Matt Holland.
The Cottagers have targeted the Ipswich skipper after his World Cup exploits with the Republic of Ireland.
Fulham's new director of football Franco Baresi sang the midfielder's praise in the Italian Press during the tournament.
And the sale will land the skint Division Three side a life-saving £1.05m.
Cherries - who were relegated last season - insisted on 25 per cent of any future profit when they flogged Holland to Ipswich five years ago for £800,000.
Holland, 28, played a major part in Ireland's march to the World Cup second round.
He is currently away on holiday. But his agent, Jonathan Barnett, said: "Nothing is happening at the moment, but when Matt returns we will have a chat about his future."
