Fulham are reported to be interested in Coventry's Republic of Ireland defender
Gary Breen, who has been transfer-listed by The Sky Blues' chairman Bryan
Richardson.
The Irish international is out of contract at the end of next season, and
with The Sky Blues massively in debt, Richardson has decided to take the
drastic step after Breen refused to sign a new, lucrative deal.
Fulham have admired the former Charlton centre-half for some time and are
now considering whether to make a bid.
It is a tempting thought for Jean Tigana, who could then allow unsettled
Kit Symons to leave the club, safe in the knowledge that he has a suitable
replacement.
Breen has been highly recommended by Irish international team-mate Steve
Finnan, but the main question for Tigana is that no matter how much he likes
Breen how badly does he really need another central defender.
Andy Melville and Alain Goma have been solid all season and Zat Knight and
Abdes Ouaddou appear to be coming on well in the reserves.
But Breen would bring some much-needed experience to Tigana's troops as
they look to build on their good start to life in the Premiership.
