Mark "Norm" Crossley has signed a one-year deal at Oldham Athletic after being released by Fulham.

The former Fulham shot-stopper is likely to be the number one keeper at Boundary Park next season, but will also take up a role on the coaching staff.

The 6ft 4in Barnsley-born keeper, who won eight full caps for Wales, made 23 senior appearances in four seasons with Fulham.

He was liked by Fulham fans particularly as one of his first team appearences was in a 1-0 victory over local rivals Chelsea. At the time Chelsea were Premiership champions and "Norm" produced a string of excellent saves to keep a clean sheet

He spent part of last season (2006/07) on loan at Sheffield Wednesday - and even scored a goal in a 3-3 draw with Southampton, after coming up for a late corner.

Crossley has made nearly 500 league and cup appearances with six clubs.

He began his career at Nottingham Forest, and has also played for Millwall, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Fulham and Wednesday.
