Fulham could be winning the race to sign highly-rated Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Johnson, according to reports.
Sunday newspaper The People is suggesting Cottagers manager Roy Hodgson is preparing a bid for the winger, who may be available after the north east club were relegated to the Championship this season.
Hodgson is also rumoured to be interested in taking Gary O'Neil from the Riverside in a double transfer, costing around £8 million.
Fulham are on the hunt for some fresh faces, as Europa League qualification means a much busier schedule for next season, and two of Middlesbrough's want-away stars could be prime candidates after their drop into English football's second tier.
The Sunday tabloid is also reporting striker Bobby Zamora could be used as a makeweight in the deal, taking him to the Riverside, although Gareth Southgate is not said to be keen on the idea.
O'Neil and Johnson join fellow Boro midfield man Stewart Downing on the rumour mill, after it was revealed by the club that the England international would be allowed to leave, should they receive the right offer.
