Fulham striker Luke Cornwall has featured in a failed loan bid by Lincoln City boss Keith Alexander.
The Imps are known to be looking to bolster their strikeforce, and Alexander contacted the Premiership club as part of his attempts to arrest their recent losing run.
However, the Cottagers decided to hold on to the 22-year-old after several injuries Jean Tigana`s strike force.
A City spokesman said: "Fulham have a couple of lads out on loan already and decided to keep hold of Luke Cornwall as a precaution."
The Imps remain optimistic of bringing a player to the club ahead of this weekend's game at home to Cambridge United.
