The Cottagers are happy to play in the Intertoto Cup if they cannot secure

Jean Tigana's men are currently ninth in the table with 35 points and are
far from out of the race for an automatic qualification place for the UEFA
Cup. And they could also claim one if they win the FA Cup.
While other clubs shy away from the Intertoto because it starts in July
and breaks up the close season, Fulham always begin pre-season training
before the rest of the Premiership
anyway and are therefore unfazed by the prospect.
Assistant manager Christian Damiano said: "Our first objective was
to stay in the Premier League, and I think we need 41 or 44 points to
do that. It's very important to get there and we are arriving close to
it.
"If we do that then we can think about the Intertoto. Why not? It
would be fantastic for us. You have an opportunity to play games in Europe.
"And it won't change anything for us because the second round is
July 24 or 25 and we start training in the last week of June. That would
be no problem."
