Fulham goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbuhler is pleased to have signed a new contract, keeping him at Craven Cottage until the end of next season.

Zuberbuhler joined Fulham as a free agent last year and has expressed his delight in securing an extension to his stay at the club.

“I am experiencing a fantastic period of my career. I belong to an historic club in London, within the greatest league in the world." said Zuberbuhler.

“I can feel immense respect in my work from the Fulham directors. Roy Hodgson is a great person. He is the one who convinced me to stay another year.”

The 38-year-old has been very much the understudy to Australian 'keeper Mark Schwarzer this season, who has been pivotal to The Cottagers' success, but is unfazed by sitting on the bench.

“Obviously I’d like to play more often. But at least I know what to expect. I have a lot of fun training. And I have been on the same wavelength with Mark Schwarzer since day one," he explained.

Fulham finished in seventh place in the Premier League this season, above all expectations, and have qualified for the Europa League.
