last updated Wednesday 24th June 2009, 10:39 AM
Fulham Football Club has today announced that Stuart Benson has resigned from the football club board as a Director. Mr Benson has worked for the Chairman for many years assisting Mr Al Fayed on legal matters.

Speaking this morning, Stuart Benson said: ‘Sadly, commitments to other various new businesses with which I am involved, and of which I have agreed to become a Director, mean that I can no longer participate as actively as I would want, and as is needed from a Director, in the Club’s affairs and activities’.

‘I am delighted that we were able to achieve our most successful season under the remarkable management and guidance of Roy Hodgson and to fulfil the ambition of reaching Europe. It has been a rare privilege to serve the club, its fantastic supporters and its Chairman for so many years, and I am sure I echo the thoughts of all fans in saying that the dedication, vision and financial support of the Chairman which I have been able to witness at first hand has been truly extraordinary’.

Stuart will remain as a Trustee of Fulham FC Foundation, together with other Charities connected to the Chairman.
