Swansea City are poised to smash their 25-year-old transfer record. The Evening Post can exclusively reveal that the club have struck a £375,000 deal with Fulham for 22-year-old central defender Dean Leacock.
The capture of Leacock will take Kenny Jackett's spending to more than £1million since January.
Swansea have been working hard behind the scenes to bring Leacock to the Liberty Stadium and chairman Huw Jenkins is ''delighted'' at the record move.
The fee for the 22-year-old beats the £350,000 Swansea, under John Toshack, paid Liverpool for Colin Irwin in 1981
