Fulham have completed the signing of French international Martin Djetou from Parma on a one-year loan deal with a view to a permanent signing.
The Ivory Coast-born defender spent four seasons with Strasbourg before joining Monaco in 1996 where he played under Jean Tigana. He helped Monaco win the French Championship in his first season at the club.
Djetou moved from Monaco to Parma last summer in a £6.5million deal and he started 22 Serie A games for the club as they successfully staved off relegation and won the Italian Cup.
The 27-year-old defender has won six international caps for France after making his debut in October 1996.
Djetou said earlier this week that Tigana's presence as Fulham manager had been a big factor in his decision to move to London after a disappointing season in Italy's Serie A that cost him a place in France's World Cup squad.
He joins compatriots Louis Saha, Steve Marlet, Steed Malbranque, Sylvain Legwinski and Alain Goma as part of the large French contingent at Fulham.
