Fulham have announced the names of players who's contracts will not be renewed for the coming season.

Top of the list is undoubtedly club captain Lee Clark who joined Fulham FC at the beginning of the 1999/2000 season and made his debut against Birmingham City September 1999.

Clark's release is not much of a surprise to ardent Fulham fans as the matter has been the subject of constant rumour for some time now. If the rumour tree is right Lee was on a contract worth some £30k a week, signed in the days when Premiership clubs thought they could print money, and Fulham were not prepared to offer him a contract with the same level of income.

There had been talk of a reduced contract being offered to Clark but as he has now officially been released that was either wrong or Clark thought he could earn more away from Fulham although newly promoted Sunderland are unlikely to call him. His current deal expires on 30 June 2005 and the Manager and Board of Directors have made the decision not to renew this contract.

Fulham FC stated that Lee Clark has been a loyal servant to the Club as both player and latterly Club Captain and we would like to thank him for his service and contribution and wish he and his family well for the future.

The Cottagers also announced that Jerome Bonnissel, Malik Buari, Sean Doherty, Ross Flitney, Alex Lawless, and Stuart Noble had also been released.

Abdes Ouaddou and Martin Herrera, loaned out last season, have played out the remainder of their contacts at other clubs.
