Fulham's rising star Zat Knight revealed how
he moved to London to escape a life of crime.
Knight, 21, made an outstanding Premiership debut in last Saturday's 0-0
draw at Leicester.
And the 6ft 6in defender could keep his place for tomorrow's big London
derby against Chelsea.
Knight was brought up in the tough Handsworth area of Birmingham.
But he said: "I rejected offers by Birmingham City and West Brom because
of the trouble some of my friends had been getting.
"Handsworth is a very rough neighbourhood.
"I wasn't looking for trouble but when you hang around with certain
friends, trouble can come looking for you.
"When Fulham offered me a deal three years ago I thought it would be
best to move away so I could get my head down and concentrate on football."
