Fulham F.A. charge statement

last updated Thursday 10th January 2002, 10:51 PM
Fulham Football Club has been informed by the Football Association that it is to be charged with misconduct for a breach of F.A rule E21(a) at the Fulham F.C. V Everton F.C. fixture on 8 December 2001.

The alleged breach relates to the conduct of the players of Fulham F.C. during the above fixture. It is alleged that there was a mass confrontation between the players of both clubs and that the conduct was not orderly and constituted unruly behaviour.

The Club is obviously disappointed by this decision and intends to mount a vigorous defence against these charges. It will, as specified by The Football Association, submit an answer regarding the charge within the next 14 days.

Fulham F.C. also acknowledges that a charge has been issued to its player Barry Hayles regarding an alleged altercation between the Everton player David Wier and himself at the same game. An answer to this charge will also be defended and submitted to The F.A. within the given time-frame.
