Fulham continued their 100% winning record, firing three second half goals past a lucklustre Nottingham Forest, to keep them at the top of the Nationwide First Division.

Forest frustrated Fulham for long periods, their best chance coming after 21 minutes when Maik Taylor dropped a cross and Tony Vaughan saw his shot bundled wide for a corner. That proved to be the home side’s best chance, as Forest failed to prevent the London side from clinching another impressive victory.

French sensation Louis Saha claimed his 10th goal in seven games, breaking the deadlock with a 56th-minute penalty, after Christian Edwards had been adjudged to have brought down Lee Clark.

Forest’s fete was compounded in the space of two minutes in which David Pleat’s men conceded two goals which set the seal on Fulham's win. Fabrice Fernandes, another of Fulham's impressive French stars, made it 2-0 nine minutes from time after playing a neat one-two with Barry Hayles. The move ending with an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net, and Hayles finished off the proceedings minutes later when he calmly lobbed the ball over Forest goalkeeper Dave Beasant.

Fulham had dominated in the first half and Saha was guilty of wasting two clear opportunities with the game in its early stages. The visitors came close to forging a breakthrough midway through the first 45 minutes when former Chelsea midfielder Bjarne Goldbaek hammered a free-kick against Beasant's right-hand upright.

But Fulham were not to be denied in the second half as Forest showed great resolution but failed to beat Taylor in the Fulham goal. The home side struggled to make any headway and when their brightest moment was supplied by substitute Dougie Freedman, his long-range effort was saved by Taylor.
