The Court of Appeal today decisively rejected all 4 claims made by the Fulham Alliance against the Secretary of State and Hammersmith Council in connection with Fulham Football Club's proposed redevelopment at Craven Cottage.
The Club had hoped to commence work at the end of the current football season 2001/2002, enabling it to return to the new Stadium for the 2003/2004 season. However the legal proceedings, which were started over a year ago, have meant that the commencement date had to be postponed and Fulham will now return to its new stadium for the commencement of the 2004/2005 football season.
The Club has been working tirelessly over the past few years to bring the Chairman's vision for a new Stadium closer to reality; this judgment by the Court of Appeal rejecting the complaints by a small number of residents marks a significant milestone in achieving this.
