Man Utd have agreed to their French forward, Louis Saha, to sign for Everton, with no money changing hands between Old Trafford and Goodison Park.
Saha, who had two years left to run on his £65,000-a-week United contract, will sign a two-year deal, with the option of a third year, if he passes a medical at Everton this morning.
Moyes said: "Louis is a good centre-forward who has a bit of everything. He can run, head the ball and score goals and he hasn't cost us any money.
"There will be some money after he has played some games, but there is no initial outlay and he has to play before we pay. He has had his injury problems, but if he had been playing every game we wouldn't be getting him for next to nothing.
"What we need to do now is get him out there because he is fantastically talented and, if we can get him involved a bit more than he was at United last season, then he will certainly play his part for us."
Saha started a mere 52 Premier League games in over four years at Old Trafford, but still managed to score 28 top-flight goals, and Moyes insists that the forward – who cost United £12.8 million from Fulham in January 2004 – can be prolific for Everton.
Moyes said: "If I can get Louis out there 20 times a season, that would give us a chance of winning 20 games, but he has had no pre-season games so there is no estimate yet as to when he may play.
"As far as I know, he is in pretty good nick."
