Veteran Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield has been in talks over a move to
Championship rivals Scunthorpe.
The 34-year-old joined the Blades for £1.2m in May 2006 but has failed to feature
in a league game for them.
He spent most of last season on loan at Leeds and Leicester, and has played just
two Carling Cup games this term.
"Geoff has been speaking to Scunthorpe so hopefully things could happen there,"
Blades manager Bryan Robson told his club's website.
"At his age, Geoff needs to be playing and really needs a permanent move because
there are a lot of forwards in front of him here."
Horsfield has made over 300 league appearances in a career that has also taken him
to Halifax, Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan and West Bromwich Albion.
