Former Fulham star Jimmy Bullard has joined Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.

Although no further details of the deal have yet been made public, it is understood that the Tractor Boys will pay around 40 per cent of Bullard's weekly £45,000 wage.

They had initially been keen to pay a much lower percentage, but following negotiations throughout the week, they are now to pay more than £20,000 a week.

In a statement on the Tigers' official website, the club said: "Jimmy Bullard has been released on loan to Ipswich Town until the end of the season.

"As he is not currently starting matches for Hull City, it is in the best interests of the club and the player to go out on loan, play games and regain full match fitness.

"Jimmy will not be allowed to play in our fixture against Ipswich Town on the 19th February at Portman Road."

Bullard will go straight into contention for their clash with Derby.

And Ipswich boss Paul Jewell said he was delighted to have him in his squad.
