Premier League newboys Hull City completed a triple swoop for former Fulham goalkeeper Tony Warner, Plymouth winger Peter Halmosi and Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng on Wednesday.
Warner was signed by Fulham in 2005, after time at Liverpool and Millwall, and released in May 2008. Unfortunately his stay at Fulham was marked by some flakey performances at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season which saw his replacement by Kasey Keller.
In a frenzied day of transfer activity at the KC Stadium, Hungary international Halmosi agreed a four-year deal to seal his move for an undisclosed club record fee, believed to be just less than two million pounds (2.5 million euros).
That was only the start for Tigers boss Phil Brown as Boateng arrived from Middlesbrough for one million pounds (1.2 million euros) on a two-year contract.
Completing the trio of new arrivals, Fulham stopper Warner joined on a free transfer and put pen to paper on a two-year deal.
"The Tigers have today completed the signings of Peter Halmosi, George Boateng and Tony Warner," a statement on the club's website read.
"The trio all put pen-to-paper this morning to become part of Phil Brown's squad ahead of the club's first-ever campaign in the top-flight of English football."
Brown added: "This is a fantastic day for Hull and a lot of hard work has gone into getting the three lads here.
"We've broken our transfer record to sign Peter Halmosi. George Boateng is a Dutch international who has had more than ten years at Premier League level and that's the kind of player I've been looking for to bolster our existing squad.
"And last but not least, we've also brought Tony Warner in and he arrives to give us a bank of three keepers who can all play at Premier League level which is great for us. They're now in a race for that number one spot and from my point of view, let the race begin!"
