Fabrice Fernandes has returned to France after failing to secure a move to Glasgow Rangers and Celtic who both refused to pay the £4.5 million fee wanted by current Club Rennes

Fernandes is now looking forward to making an impact on France's Le Championnat next season after his experiences in the UK.

He said: "I am very determined this season because I know the career of a footballer does not last a long time. I will try to work hard, without thinking of competition, and by putting all my assets to the best possible use.

"My time at Fulham succeeded in making me appreciate English supporters. I now hope to won over the Rennes fans once and for all. I regard myself as a child of the club. My career was formed here, and I return with large ambitions!"
