Kit Symons has joined the walking wounded at Fulham and could miss the start of pre-season training. The defender has a back injury and it seems increasingly likely that new boss Jean Tigana will have a much depleted squad when he starts work on July 1.

Chris Coleman has already been ruled out with his knee injury, while Simon Morgan is unlikely to be ready for the opening day after a similar operation.

Steve Finnan, injured playing for the Republic of Ireland, is also in trouble and Rufus Brevett will not be ready for action for another two months.
