Fulham striker Erik Nevland is hoping he can earn another year's contract when the 31-year-old's current deal runs out at the end of this season.
The Norwegian turned down an offer to return to his hometown club of Viking at the end of the last campaign, and, despite his role as back-up striker, wants to hang around west London.
He said: "I think I can return to Viking just about any time I want - and I like being with Fulham. I'll just do whatever I can to earn an extra year."
Nevland is likely to get some time on the Craven Cottage pitch this evening as Fulham look to round off their Europa League, third-round tie against FK Vektra.
Leading 3-0 from last week's away leg in Lithuania, Nevland reckons a 'sensible' approach should see the Whites through to the final qualifying round on August 20.
He said: "It's a good situation to be in, and a lot has to have gone wrong if we lose. Hopefully, it will be a tough pre-season workout that gets us closer to preparing for the Premiership."
