Fulham Football Club are the
top club in the Nationwide league.
The Mighty Whites are resting this
weekend as so many of our players are away playing in international games.
In fact there are only four Division One fixtures over the coming weekend and
only the Birmingham game had any passing interest for fans of the Super Whites.
Birmingham continued to stutter with a 2-1 home defeat against Sheffield Wednesday
on Saturday. It would seem that Birmingham's opportunity to claim the second
automatic promotion spot has slipped them by.
They have now lost two of their last three games and drew the other one. This
leaves them in fourth spot 16 points behind Fulham having now played a game
more than Fulham
The only real competition now is third placed Blackburn also 16 points behind
Fulham but with two games in hand.
Say ... We are top of Division One after three quarters of the campaign,
have lost only four games, have the best goal difference and the leading scorer
in the Premier and Nationwide leagues.

Birmingham (4) v Sheff Wed (18)
Martin O'Connor, Danny Sonner and Michael Johnson, who missed the Blues'
midweek clash with Grimsby, are expected to be sidelined again and Andrew
Johnson, who scored in the 1-1 draw at Blundell Park, is doubtful with a
hamstring strain.
Wednesday will have to manage without Andy Booth, sold to Huddersfield,
but can call upon deadline day signings from Southampton, Trond-Egil Soltvedt
and Stuart Ripley. Soltvedt has been signed on a two-year deal for a fee
rising to £200,000 while Ripley has arrived on loan.

Burnley (10) v QPR (23)
Burnley boss Stan Ternent is without Ian Cox, who is on international duty
with Trinidad & Tobago. Ternent is set to keep faith with Gareth Taylor,
who has had his loan deal from Manchester City extended for another month.
Lee Briscoe (hamstring) is likely to miss out but Graham Branch and Paul
Cook could come into contention.
QPR manager Ian Holloway will include centre-back Wayne Brown, signed on
loan from Ipswich until the end of the season, in his squad. Karl Ready
has not trained this week due to illness and is a doubtful starter and Matthew
Rose is still struggling with bruising to his knee.

Barnsley (12) v Gillingham (15)
Barnsley have a fitness doubt over midfielder Darren Bullock. He has been
struggling with a bout of flu but the Tykes are hopeful that we will recover
in time.
Gillingham player-boss Andy Hessenthaler will have Guy Ipoua available to
make his debut. Ipoua signed from Scunthorpe recently but has been unable
to play due to a two-match suspension. Mark Patterson (hamstring) may miss
out but the Gills are confident Mark Saunders will recover from a stomach
bug.

West Brom (6) v Tranmere (24)
West Brom will have new signings Phil Gilchrist and Warren Cummings in their
squad for the clash with Tranmere. Cummings is on loan until the end of
the season from Chelsea while Gilchrist is on loan initially but is set
to complete a £500,000 deal before the Tranmere game.
Tranmere's joint management team of Kevin Sheedy and Ray Mathias could welcome
back Paul Rideout and Sean Flynn after they came through a midweek reserves
game. Clint Hill remains sidelined for a few more weeks with his damaged
knee ligaments.
