Clint Dempsey has paid tribute to Fulham's management for inspiring his recent run of goalscoring form.

The American goes into tomorrow's home clash against Bolton as the club's leading scorer with five goals in five Premier League fixtures - not a bad return considering Dempsey is a midfielder pressed into service up front by an injury crisis.

The 26-year-old, signed from MLS side New England Revolution in 2007, said: "Working with Roy Hodgson and his assistants Mike Kelly and Ray Lewington has helped to develop my game more. I feel like I'm getting more confident playing up top in so far what kind of runs I need to make into the channels, and how I can be a better link-up man."
