Roy Hodgson does not need to delve into the
transfer market as he bids to keep Fulham in The Premier League, according to midfielder
Simon Davies.
Hodgson oversaw his first game as Fulham boss on New Year’s Day in a defeat to Chelsea,
and there have been suggestions that he will utilise his extensive contacts in the
game to strengthen the squad he inherited from Lawrie Sanchez.
Davies feels the answer to correcting Fulham’s poor form lies within the present
playing staff though.
"We feel we've got enough in the squad if we get it right to get out of this," said
Davies.
"It's easy saying it but everyone seems to have confidence in the new manager and
he knows what he's talking about.
"The manager's come in and said 'We can either sit here and feel sorry for ourselves
or take the positives and build and build and build'.
"That's what will happen now and he will be picking out everything he feels is good
and what we can improve on, and I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time on the
training pitch."
