Fulham
Fulham's new £11.5million striker Steve Marlet is not expected to make his
debut in the London derby at Charlton on Sunday.
The 27-year-old club record signing, who moved from Lyon last week, has
been handed the number nine shirt but is unlikely to play after sustaining an
injury while with the French team in Chile at the weekend.
Fellow forward Luis Boa Morte is available to manager Jean Tigana for the first
time in the campaign after sitting out the first three Premiership matches due
to a suspension held over from last season.
Midfielder Lee Clark has battled back to fitness after his Achilles tendon problem
and hopes to win a starting place in the Cottagers' midfield.
But French centre-back Alain Goma's hip injury will force him to watch from the
sidelines at The Valley.
Fulham (from):
Van der Sar, Brevett, Finnan, Melville, Symons, Harley, Collins, Legwinski, Malbranque,
Goldbaek, Taylor, Hayles, Saha, Boa Morte, Davis, Ouaddou.
Charlton
Charlton begin life without Richard Rufus in the London derby with Premiership
new boys Fulham on Sunday.
The former England Under-21 centre-back underwent surgery on knee ligament
damage, sustained during his first appearance of the season at Ipswich, this week
and will be out for six months.
Gavin Peacock (calf) is out for a month but there is better news for Charlton
boss Alan Curbishley with John Robinson, scorer of the only goal in the corresponding
fixture two years ago, available again.
Fellow midfielders Claus Jensen and captain Mark Kinsella are both short of match
fitness and will not be rushed back.
Steve Brown or Andy Todd, who has asked for a transfer from The Valley, will replace
him while there is better news for Alan Curbishley in midfield.
Meanwhile, Yugoslav international goalkeeper Sasa Ilic has joined Division One
side Portsmouth on a month's loan so Ben Roberts will take his place on the bench.
Charlton (from):
Kiely, Todd, Young, Brown, Fish, Fortune, Powell, Konchesky, Parker, Kinsella,
Robinson, Salako, Stuart, Collis, Euell, Lisbie, Johansson, Bartlett, Mendonca,
Roberts.
