  • Charlton (Addicks)

    Stadium: The Valley

    Played 37 - 12th in Prem on 49 pts
  • Manager: Alan Curbishley
    (July '91
    )

    Games: 589 - W 37%, D 26%, L 37%
    • For the second season running Charlton's Premiership campaign has tailed off, although a 2-1 victory against Southampton in their penultimate home game on 26 April was their only points in six matches. Indeed Alan Curbishley's side have managed just four points from a last possible 27. Only Sunderland, with no points, have an inferior points return in the Premiership's "Last Six Current Form" table.
    • Charlton have not beaten Fulham in the Premiership, and have already been defeated twice by them at Loftus Road. Steed Malbranque scored all the goals when bagging a hat trick in the fourth round of the FA Cup on 26 January (Charlton's Mark Fish was sent off) and Facundo Sava was on target in the reverse League fixture on 6 October. The Cottagers are therefore aiming to record for a first ever top flight double over Charlton and make the South Londoners the second club they've 'doubled' this season, following home and away victories over Sunderland. They could also inflict a fifth 'double' reverse on the Addicks who failed to pick up a single point in their brace each of fixtures with Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle and Man Utd.
    • A clear four goals victory here accompanied by a series of other results in their favour could see Charlton finishing as high as eighth. They would surpass their previous best of ninth in 2000/01 and bag a merit payment £6,463,353 from their fourth Premier League campaign. However they could also drop as far as 13th, which would still be their second best achievement in this League and pocket £3,977,448 from the merit payments ladder. Curbishley will be happy with a win, because that will achieve his target of equalling the 52 points accumulated two years ago.
    • 5 wins in last 13 League and Cup games
    • Won 1 of last 9 Premiership matches
    • Drawn 1 of last 15 in all competitions
    • 1 draw in last 14 top flight encounters
    • Lost 7 of last 9 confrontations
    • 5 defeats in last 6 top division duels
    • Failed to score in 4 of last 9 contests
    • Failed to find the net in 2 of last 5 League clashes

    • Fulham may have won 2-0 at Loftus Road last Saturday, but their away form in pretty weak. The Cottagers have not won on their League travels since their only away maximum, 3-0 at Sunderland on 14 September. Subsequent to that they have drawn five and lost ten. Only the Wearsiders have an inferior top division away points return (eight points to Fulham's nine. Sunderland have finished their away campaign).
    • Fulham have conceded more penalties than any other club in the top division (9).
    • Fulham managed 13th in their first Premiership campaign and could match that this time. But they could also fall from their current placing of 15th to 16th, which would be worth £2,485,905 in their share of end-of-season bonuses.
    • 3 wins in last 9 League and Cup games
    • Won 2 of last 4 Premiership matches
    • Drawn 2 of last 8 in all competitions

    • Birmingham at home to West Ham lose.
Worst Scenario at the end of day - Down 1 to 16th
    • If Fulham lose, and,

    Head to Head

    • Fulham are seeking their third win of the season against Charlton. After clinching their first ever top flight maximum over the Addicks with the 1-0 home success on 6 October, the Cottagers then knocked Alan Curbishley's side out of the FA Cup courtesy of Steed Malbranque's Fourth Round hat trick.
    • Charlton have scored just one goal in four League and Cup games with Fulham over two seasons.
    • The Addicks are looking to notch their third win in four home League meetings with the Cottagers.
    • Fulham's last League win at Charlton was 1-2 in the old Second Division on 13 October, 1984.
    • Fulham are looking to complete their first 'double' over Athletic in the Premiership, first ever in the top flight, first over them in 23 years and third since they first engaged in League competition in 1929. The last London derby of the season for Charlton and Fulham at the Valley and as far as fixture history goes, there's nothing to chose between the pair. They have met 45 times in the League with Charlton winning 15, Fulham 15 and 15 have been drawn.
    • Both clubs are destined to end in no man's land. Charlton are three places higher in 12th and will end the campaign ahead of their rivals, but victory for Fulham would mean they would finish with just one less point than the Addicks.
