Jimmy Bullard |
Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard is facing around eight weeks on the sidelines after dislocating his kneecap during Saturday's 2-1 win at Newcastle United.
Bullard was stretchered off following a collision with Magpies captain Scott Parker, amid fears he had suffered a season-ending injury.
However, Cottagers physio Jason Palmer said: "Jimmy's kneecap was dislocated but we reset it within 25 seconds.
"His X-ray shows no significant damage or fracture, which is very good news."
Fulham boss Chris Coleman was naturally disappointed to lose a key player to injury, but was quick to absolve Parker of any blame.
"To be fair to Scott Parker, he was a bit shaken up himself. It was a fair challenge, there was no malice in it at all," said Coleman.
"Scott came in at half-time and he was obviously moved by it. Credit to him, full respect to him for doing that.
"It was not his fault, it was a normal challenge."
