Fulham boss Jean Tigana is ready to splash out two million pounds on Monaco defender Eric Abidal, according to reports.
Tigana was furious with the way his team capitulated against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and the defeat at home to Preston in midweek.
The defence has to improve if Fulham are to be title contenders, and Abidal could be the man who will strengthen that particular area.
Tigana's former team, Monaco are still keen to hang on to the player for the time being, especially if they are successful in getting through to the next round of the Champions League.
Monaco need a win in Glasgow against Rangers to have a slim chance of qualifying for the next phase, but a defeat could even rule them out of the UEFA CUP, so Tigana's eyes will be on Ibrox Stadium in a two weeks time.
