Ever the optimist Owen. Keep up the good work. Rather than putting less enthusiastic posters in the stocks consider their thoughts, which would be-along the lines, we probably did better than one would have thought at the start of the season. We had some very good performances. We had some absolutely dire performances. We finished above the likes of Man U and Spurs. We, appalling, finished below Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Nottingham Forest, all teams who have improved more than us this season, which was possibly one of the worst on record. Eliminating the 3 relegated teams who were never in the hunt we failed to finish in the top half of the table. It was small margins in the end and if we had finished 8th I wouldn’t be feeling quite so disappointed, however, we didn’t and the records will show we finished 11th. I’m sure other teams threw points away but in all my time watching Fulham I cannot remember quite so many points simply squandered, particularly from winning positions. A lot needs to be tightened up and we need to be more consistent and committed. Additionally we desperately need a number of quality experienced players, probably with the enthusiasm of youth. One feels next year will be much tougher, the canon fodder will have been relegated and replaced. So to avoid banging on I’d just say that it was a below par season and will mark the books, ‘Must do better’.

In my opinion, we could and should have at least 60 points when you consider our poor displays against the relegated teams. However, we all know football is not an exact science which is part of its beauty. One thing that has struck me, especially over the past ten years, has been our abysmal transfer record when it comes to purchasing players. We have been interested in several players which have gone to other clubs because we offered slightly less than the asking price. We need to be prepared to assess potential targets and provided the offer price is reasonable then pay not start haggling. As many as our posters have mention there is a need to change our scouting hierarchy and bring in people more in tune with the present game. Perhaps we should approach the Brentford scouting set up which has the knack of unearthing diamonds which they sell on for a tremendous profit and then replace them with a new batch of diamonds. It has been a long time since out scouting team has found anything except rubbish. Going back a few years we purchase Graham Leggat for a few thousand pounds, whilst Sniffer Clarke and Van der Sar spring to mind. We obviously need to find these players which we can afford which requires in touch with the game. We cannot compete with the big boys but it is possible to find good players in the Championship and abroad. Look at the number of players that have been mentioned by the club on the Home page only very little comes of these potential candidates,

Let’s be clear look at the teams who finished below us this season, all of them bar Wolves will improve next season. Everton with Moyes in the new stadium will be a stronger force and promoted Leeds will be no pushovers. We need a change, perhaps Marco needs to leave things have become very stale. First half today it was embarrassing, men against boys. Our home form is disgraceful in a poor league.

posted by DMK (Guest) - Sunday 25th May 2025, 7:34 AM As there seems to be an ever growing gap between the Premier League and the Championship over the last few seasons, I think that all of those promoted teams will find it hard going, and although I will expect Leeds, Burnley, and Sunderland to find it hard going, I would think, and it is of course, just an opinion, that Leeds will have the best chance of survival, but who knows. Hopefully we will be looking to go up a few places in the table next season, but nothing is guaranteed in football. Who quite honestly who could have seen Palace winning the FA Cup, Forest, challenging for a European spot, or even Man City not offering a title challenge, and even both Spurs and Man Untd finishing in the bottom 6 ! ! But that's football for you.

I feel that if he is not going to be completely satisfied with the additions that we make to our squad, and we can only presume that there will be additions, then he will not be the happy bunny, that he seems to be at the moment.

Most of them claim for everything, including heating, water, Council tax and various sundries even though their salaries approach £100,000. In addition, they have subsidies meals and of course a Commons bar where they pay about half what you and I pay at our local.Many Labour MP’s are sponsored which is a nice little earner whilst several Conservatives receive receive lobbying fees from the Private sector. The MP’s from the smaller Parties probably will not be in the same league as their big brothers. Gone are the days of Clem and Winston when MP’s were respected with Dr. Edith Summerskill and Michael Stewart represented the two Fulham wards. That’s progress for you.

Yet Spurs had already played Manchester United three times this season and won all three, scoring eight goals and conceding three. What a couple of losers! How far would either of them have got in the Champions League? There would have been big clearouts at Man U especially whatever the result had been.

One has the impression that clubs like Fulham, Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth etc may be 'smaller', but punch above their weight simply because they are happy ships where the manager is allowed to get on with his job. Alternatively, places like Man U or Spurs haven't been happy for years. It's disgraceful that Man U lack real quality players but have forced to lend out the likes of Jaydon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. We have not won any of those things and do not looked like doing so, that might attract our manager to move to Spurs. More money and better prospect would attract most people in most professions.

A lot of money for one stand! The loan is only to COMPLETE the stand. So the full cost of the stand is probably way more. No wonder the season ticket is £3000 a year! Servicing the loan is about £15m a year. A problem if we ever get relegated!

I thought it was a very entertaining game two attacking team attacking and scoring goals and we managed to score more of them. A saved penalty, the ref chickened out on sending a man from each side off for a second yellow card. The upsetting thing is if we had won all the games we took the lead in we would be a point behind Liverpool going into the last game. The counter to this is we have more points in the top division than we have ever done before but we can do a lot better than that.

Yes we should have done better, with so many leads thrown away, but considering everything overall, we haven't done too badly, and beating those Bees twice in a season, makes it a rather worth while.

Totally agree.If you look at the Premier league right now,who are likely to finish below us next season ? Plus it's unlikely that Leeds and Burnley will be as weak as the promoted teams have been for the last two seasons.We've got plenty of work to do in the summer to avoid a relegation struggle.
