So sad! only 28 and won everything. Always seems like a nice fellow and one of the smartest players on the pitch! RIP. Sad day for football.

Agree. Tragic news. Thoughts with his family, friends and the football community especially Liverpool and Wolves.

Yes, extremely so, especially having just married his long term partner. They say the good die young which probably accounts for all the oldies posting on this board.

MST thank you for removing the inappropriate and unsavoury remarks made by a certain poster following the death of a talented young man. My sincerest gratitude for the respectful comments made by our true fans expressing their sorrow at his untimely death.

It is tragic and terribly sad for his friends and family but I fail to see why there has to be a public wringing of hands just because he is well known. It happens to many people, young and old every day. Is the life of a professional footballer worth more than, say a plumber who dies on his way to/from work? I'd suggest his loss is possibly greater given Jota has probably left his family very comfortably off, which may not be the case for a family who have lost their only bread winner. It is sad, but you lot don't know him personally so why do you feel the need to grieve excessively on a forum for Fulham Football Club?

May I add my name to the list of people offering my condolences to Jota's wife, parents, and family, and of course all Liverpool fans, and football fans the world over, for this dreadful event that has happened today, and although most of us have never met the lad, we all feel like we have lost a member of our football family today.

Crikey Fred, if people feel the need to to outpour their condolences for such a tragic loss of life on this site then, so be it. It’s the football family after all and I suspect that many fans from many clubs all over the country are doing likewise! Stop being such a sourpuss! Seeing the news yesterday was a massive shock to many people (including me) and I would also like to add my condolences - a life, hopes, dreams and ambitions snuffed out so easily makes you realise how fragile and short life can be and is a lesson to us all to make as much of it as we can whilst we still can (be happy). RIP Diogo.

See, MST here's the thing. Two post down everyone is saying football is just big business. There is no loyalty, the Kahn are not altruistic just in for cash. Now, a young footballer loses his life with his brother, in his Lamborghini and everyone says he was part of the "football Family" and even Wimbledon are considering allowing players to wear black arm bands, why? It is insincere demonstration of grief. People do it or, say RIP Diogo etc because they want everyone to see it and think better of them! It's crap. Not one of you has the slightest connection with him or his family, it's all so false, crocodile tears and a poor reflection on people today.

Fred, you are a disgrace. People express their grief for people in the public eye despite not having any direct connection with them. Jota was one of the wider football fraternity who was admired for his football skills both by the Liverpool fans and the wider football family. How many of the country express their sorrow at the passing of Queen Elizabeth without knowing or ever having seen her. As far as I am concerned you are a pariah and in the minority of football fans and certainly not representative of Fulham supporters.

Fred, you are a bit cold! if people here, including myself, want to write a few words on here as a mark of respect for a footballer we liked and our emotions were touched (maybe not yours) when we heard the news. Its our right. For those like yourself who has no feeling at all, which is perfectly fine, but should show respect and basically keep your mouth shut. When you see a hearse passing by, even though you don't know the deceased, I'd assume you'd move out of the way and say nothing. Maybe you don't.

Latest in a long of footballers who’ve crashed in very powerful super cars, including our own Cookie. The likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini should take steps to ensure that when they sell a car the purchaser is able to able to handle it. There’s no need to have these very powerful engines outside the race track. I’d enforce speed limiters on all cars and make sure they cut out at 55 mph. As for bigboy, he should read the names on the posts he doesn’t like before throwing allegations about. If you doddery a*seholes can’t read the post properly, don’t comment on it.

Paddy, you tend to spout inane comments before you know the cause of the crash which the police have initially stated it was due to a tyre blowout. However, as far as I know the investigation is still ongoing. However, in you usual manner, you are prepared to jump to your own conclusions before the facts have been established. I suggest you wait for the official facts be established before spouting off in your usual manner. Perhaps, if everyone ignores you, then you will learn to be more respectful.

I’ve no interest in Jota , which is why I didn’t comment. The inane post you refer to wasn’t posted by me. Now, if you continue mentioning my name then I will have no option than to post under your name. I imagine you’re to stupid to apologise so I’m not asking for one. Nor would I accept it. Let me make it clear, you’re a dopy c*nt.
