Player description
Canadian Paul has been a crowd pleaser wherever he goes and warmed the Fulham fans by scoring 13 goals in his first 33 appearances.
Quick and sharp around the penalty area he cost £1.1 million from West Brom in October 1997 doubling the previous Division Two transfer record. Pesch was discovered by Birmingham City Youth Development Officer Tony Taylor, who had been Canada's national coach.
Paul was born and raised in Ontario. He first came to prominence playing for Canada in the Under 16 World Cup and later for the Olympic Under 19 team. Paul went to Birmingham at age 21 and in his second
season was snapped up by Stoke City for £400,000, rising to nearly £700,000 after so many goals and appearances. After two full seasons at Stoke he switched back to Birmingham for £400,000, having already married St Andrews managing director Karren Brady. But after only three months he was in demand again and moved to West Brom for £650,000.
Was a regular in Canada's World Cup qualifying campaign but they missed out on France '98.

Paul Peschisolido left Sheffield United for Derby County putting put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Pride Park on Friday 12th March 2004.
Peschisolido was out of contract with The Blades in the summer, although Blades Manager Neil Warnock had hoped he would sign a one-year extension. He said "We are sorry to lose Paul but since before Christmas he has indicated that travelling three, sometimes four hours per day for training has been getting to him"
The 32-year-old striker had scored nine times in 12 starts for the Yorkshire outfit along with netting their winning goal in their FA Cup victory over Colchester.
