Fulham loan striker Paul Peschisolido scored a goal, made another and probably found his front door bolted shut from the inside when he arrived home.

For the former Birmingham player - now in the third week of a two-month loan from Fulham to United - is married to Birmingham MD Karren Brady.

And after her side's incredible run to the final of the Worthington Cup and into the play-off places, the last person she needed to remind her that City are beatable was her husband.

In the first half Peschisolido rounded keeper Ian Bennett but another loan player, Carl Tiler, hacked his shot clear.

The Canadian was back in the thick of it in the 40th minute when he was hauled down on the left by Jerry Gill. From the free-kick the striker tried to find Ndlovu, only for Nick Eaden to get his arm in the way. Referee Paul Danson awarded a penalty and Devlin stepped up to rub more salt in the wound.

Peschisolido saved the best for last when Michael Brown chipped in a 62nd- minute cross leaving him with a close-range header to secure the points.

Birmingham pulled a late goal back through Geoff Horsfield.
