Wilshire FA official referee Simon Hooper, 34 year old, began his Football League career as an assistant referee in 2006/07. At the same time he was a referee in non-league football. Hooper was promoted to a Football League referee the following season. At the start of the 2016/17 season he was promoted to Select Group 2.

Mr Hooper last refed a Fulham game in the opening game of this season when Fulham beat favourites Newcastle 1-0.Mr Hooper booked four players, one from Fulham, defender Denis Odoi for a foul in the 10th minute.

Last season in Mr Hooper refed three Fulham games, a 2-2 draw against Reading, a 4-1 home win against Rotherham and our 3-2 away defeat at Sheff Wed. In all he booked  one opposition player and six Fulham players.

Preston have been refed by Mr Hooper three times so far this season, two away wins and a home win, the last being the 2-0 home win over Brighton in January. He booked eight Preston players and  three opposition players over the three games

Last season he refed 42 games and dished out 100 yellows, a below average 2.5 yellows per game, and a below average 2 reds.

This season so far he has refed 33 games and dished out 121 yellows, an average 3.6 yellows per game, and again a below average 2 reds.

His busiest game this season was between Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest when he booked three Villa players, five Forest players and sent off another Forest player for two yellows.
