Fulham suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon, conceding twice in the closing stages.
After a goalless first half, Ryan Sessegnon broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a superb strike, before a stunning late equaliser from Abdoul Ouattara restored parity. With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Dara O'Shea struck deep into stoppage time to complete a dramatic comeback and condemn Fulham to defeat.
Álvaro Arbeloa made two changes to the side that were denied all three points in the dying stages against Manchester United before the international break. Sessegnon and Kenny Tete came into the starting XI, replacing Antonee Robinson and Timothy Castagne respectively.
The opening ten minutes were cagey, with neither side able to carve out any clear-cut opportunities. As Fulham began to enjoy longer spells of possession, the hosts started to press and probe, and in the 16th minute, Julio Enciso flashed an effort wide of the post from distance.
In the 24th minute, Sessegnon headed wide following a deep cross from Tete on the right flank, before Sander Berge registered Fulham's first effort on target six minutes later. Neat interplay down the right between Tete and Oscar Bobb culminated in the Norwegian midfielder unleashing a powerful right-footed strike towards goal. Christian Walton was equal to the effort, parrying it behind for a corner.
The game began to open up in the final ten minutes of the half, and in the 37th minute, Gonzalo García squandered a promising opportunity after a perfectly weighted through ball picked out the striker in stride inside the Ipswich penalty area. However, he could only lash his effort wide.

With Fulham enjoying 63% of possession as the first half drew to a close, Sessegnon curled an effort wide of the far post in the 44th minute. That proved to be the final action of note in an otherwise subdued opening 45 minutes.
The second half began with Ipswich enjoying more time on the ball, but it was Fulham who were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty in the 50th minute. Shea Charles, a tireless presence in the heart of the Fulham midfield, danced past three defenders with some delightful footwork before being bundled over inside the box. Despite the protests, the referee waved away the appeals and play continued.
Three minutes later, García had another golden opportunity to break the deadlock. David Affengruber's relentless pressing high up the pitch saw him win possession and feed Oscar Bobb, who slipped Josh King in behind the Ipswich backline. King's cut-back fell invitingly to the feet of the Spaniard, but with the goal at his mercy, García could only steer a tame effort into the path of a defender.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 55th minute. After a third Fulham set-piece in quick succession was cleared to Sessegnon on the edge of the area, the full-back took a touch before unleashing a superb low drive through a crowded penalty box and into the bottom corner. A magnificent strike to give us a deserved lead.
Fulham's lead was almost short-lived as Emerson crashed a header against the post, before Bobb squandered a gilt-edged opportunity to double our advantage, blazing his effort over the bar.
After a frantic few minutes, the contest settled down once again as the final 20 minutes approached. However, in the 75th minute, Ipswich were left appealing for a penalty when Sessegnon bundled over Daizen Maeda inside the area. As with Charles earlier in the first half, the referee waved away the protests.
Ipswich threw more bodies forward in a desperate attempt to restore parity, while Fulham dropped deeper, committing more players behind the ball to protect our slender advantage. It was shaping up to be a nervy finale.
In the 86th minute, Bernd Leno produced a superb reaction save from close range to preserve our lead, but the hosts continued to pile on the pressure as the clock ticked down.
The equaliser arrived in spectacular fashion in the 89th minute through Ouattara. A headed clearance from Calvin Bassey fell to the midfielder, who steadied himself before unleashing a thunderous left-footed strike into the bottom corner. With five minutes of added time still to play, the scores were level.
Fulham hearts were broken deep into stoppage time as Dara O'Shea rose to meet a dangerous free-kick, heading home at the near post to complete a dramatic Ipswich comeback and condemn the Whites to another agonising defeat.
Our wait for a first win of the season continues, but we will look to bounce back next weekend when we welcome Hull City.
