Leeds (0) 1-1 (0) Fulham

Chris Wood’s last-minute strike denied Fulham what would have been their best start to a campaign in 16 years.

Tom Cairney’s sublime curling effort on 78 minutes looked to have assured the Whites a third win from three opening Championship games.

The Whites hit the woodwork once in either half as they bossed the game, but Wood found the net with a bicycle kick in stoppage-time.

On his 48th birthday, Slavisa Jokanovic watched his side miss out on their best start to a season since they were last promoted to the Premier League in 2000-01.

The visitors created a host of good chances, including two for 16-year-old left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who produced an impressive display on his senior debut.

Sessegnon supplied a cross for Floyd Ayite to glance a header fractionally wide of the far post as Fulham began on the front foot before Aluko fired against the post from close range on 34 minutes.

Leeds, who had suffered two defeats under new manager Garry Monk, had an effort through Marcus Antonsson cleared off the line before the break.

Smith rattled the crossbar with a header after Sessegnon broke into the box and forced Leeds keeper Robert Green to tip his effort wide for a corner.

And Sessegnon went close again in the same position from a tight angle inside the box, but skewed his shot off target.

Cairney rounded off a neat move when he picked out the far corner from the right-hand side and thought he had won the game for his side.

New signing Jozabed Sanchez came off the bench to make a his debut on 88 minutes but two minutes later Wood muscled his way into space in the box and fired in the equaliser.
