Fulham boss Martin Jol labelled Stoke midfielder Steven Nzonzi clash with Bryan Ruiz as 'evil' after his side's win at Craven Cottage.

Nzonzi was somewhat fortunate to escape a red card after appearing to punch Ruiz in the face in the first half with referee Lee Probert only booking the Frenchman.

Jol was unhappy that Nzonzi was not punished for the incident, feeling he was lucky to stay on the pitch.

"I think he's very lucky to get a yellow card," Jol.

"This was a sort of knockout punch that was more than red. It was evil."

Jol and ref Probert also missed a full forearm smash by Huth on Philippe Senderos but it was clearly visible on Sky.

Jol was delighted with his side's win as they boosted their survival hopes with a much-needed three points to move further clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table.
