Fulham manager Marco Silva says Fulham are doing their "maximum" to keep Harry Wilson but admits it won't be easy to extend his contract.

Wilson scored his ninth league goal to earn Fulham a late victory over Brighton on Saturday, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Asked whether Fulham were resigned to losing the in-form midfielder, Silva said: "No, we are in the fight. We are trying to keep him, definitely. If you ask me if that’s going to be easy, I would say to you it’s not going to be easy.

"The more goals he scores, the better he plays, the more clubs are going to be around him. That is the football business. When a player goes to the end of their contract, this type of thing is going to happen.

“I know that he's happy at our club, I know how much he's enjoying the moment, and it's up to the club to keep working hard and doing the maximum that the club can do to try to keep him.

“Nothing concrete [with contract talks]. If there's something clear there, we will announce.
