Fulham (1) 5-0 (0) Reading

Chris Martin led the way as Fulham proved their status as play-off contenders against Jaap Stam's high-flying Reading at Craven Cottage .

Chris Gunter's early own goal gave the hosts the lead early on, before Chris Martin put the Whites in a commanding lead shortly after the break.

Danny Williams' red card shortly after half time left the visitors vulnerable before Sone Aluko put the game to bed and Stefan Johansen added a well-deserved fourth.

And Martin added his second with a 90th minute free kick as the Whites staked their claim for a top six spot.

After an even opening ten minutes, Jokanovic's men took the lead on 15 minutes after Gunter headed home from a dangerous Ryan Fredericks cross.

The early strike saw the Whites continue to dominate the visitors, who entered the game in 3rd place, and Martin may have doubled the lead when his header was palmed over by the Reading keeper.

Aluko also threatened for the Whites before the break, but Fulham could not capitalise and the visitors eeked their way back into the match.

But it was the hosts who doubled their lead less than five minutes after the interval when Martin notched his fifth goal for the Whites, netting from 18 yards to settle any home nerves.

Scotland international Martin may have put the game to rest a few moments later, but he contrived to head over the bar from a free kick.

Reading shot themselves in the foot not long when Williams received his marching orders for kicking out at Johansen .

Aluko then slotted home with a controversial goal, which had originally been ruled out for offside as Martin appeared to have touched the ball from an offside position - only for the referee to reverse the decision.

And minutes later Johansen put some well-deserved gloss on the scoreline when he slammed home from just inside the box.

Fulham forward Martin slammed home a free kick to wrap up a fantastic match for the Whites.
