Fulham (0) 0-4 (1) Bristol City

Fulham had an afternoon to forget as they were heavily beaten by Bristol City and had Kevin McDonald sent off.

Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham scored his 10th goal of the season against the run of play with the Whites dominating the first half as they did in their EFL Cup tie on Wednesday.

However, the Robins took control after the break and Luke Freeman made it 2-0 after an amazing run from Lee Tomlin.

Bobby Reid made it three after robbing Jozabed on the edge of the penalty area and driving the ball past David Button.

McDonald was then sent off with 10 minutes to go for a challenge on Callum O'Dowda the match before Aden Flint fired home from a yard to complete the rout.

It could have been a different contest as Fulham made all the running in the opening exchanges, playing some neat passing football with Ryan Sessegnon going close.

However, in their desire to go on the front foot, they were exposed at the back as Jamie Paterson found space vacated by the 16-year-old to venture forward.

He provided a cross and Abraham unleashed a volley from close range into the net off the crossbar.

Sessegnon was providing the threat going forward and his vicious cross was headed wide by Chris Martin as the Whites responded to the early setback.

The former Derby man had a few chances to level the scores in the opening 45 minutes but was unable to beat Fielding.

There was a lot of excellent build up play from the home side but the final ball and shot let them down in the first half.

Much like Wednesday, Bristol City came out a stronger side after half-time,with Fulham substituting Scott Parker who was dangerously close to a second yellow, and bringing on Stefan Johansen.

Sone Aluko hit the bar for Fulham but the Robins doubled their advantage when Lee Tomlin ran through the home defence before laying off Freeman to lash home the second.

Fulham's heads dropped and Jozabed was dispossessed by Reid and he made it 3-0 and killed the game as a contest.

McDonald was then deemed to have dangerously tackled O'Dowda with 10 minutes left and was dismissed from the field of play.

And Flint rounded off proceedings when he turned home Paterson's cross from one yard out to condemn the home side to a heavy defeat.
