Fulham assistant boss Christian Damiano urged his side to start making
the most of their goalscoring chances after they needed an own goal to edge past
Derby at Pride Park.
Horacio Carbonari steered Sean Davis' right-wing cross past his own goalkeeper in the 72nd minute to take Fulham back into the top half of the table.
A defeat for Jean Tigana's men would have left them just three points above the drop zone - and Damiano insists the Cottagers need more firepower if they are to stay away from trouble for the rest of the season.
"Our defence is a very good point but up front is a weak point for us and we need more power in the penalty box," said Damiano.
"We miss too many chances. The difference with teams like Manchester United is that they have three good chances and they score three goals.
"We need more ability to score. It is very important that we start to make the most of our chances."
Derby boss Colin Todd blamed his side's lack of thrust in the final third
of the field for a bad defeat which leaves his side firmly entrenched in the relegation
zone.
Todd said: "We got punished because of our mistakes. We had people out of position and they've gone through and hurt us.
"But the most important factor was that we didn't create enough. We had to put back-to-back results together and this was a home game but we missed that chance.
"We have another opportunity in a week's time but tonight was a vital game for us and we've missed out. A lot of it was down to our non-performances."
