Louis Saha added two more strikes to his impressive goal tally to take Fulham back to the top of the First Division.
Jean Tigana's side were much too strong for their hosts in this London derby and were full value for their win.
Once Saha had put them in front in the 33rd minute with a low drive from 20 yards, the result was a foregone conclusion.
By that stage Fulham should already have been at least a goal to the good as Luis Boa Morte, preferred in the starting line-up to Barry Hayles, missed two clear chances to score.
John Collins' superb through ball put the former Arsenal man in space on the left edge of the penalty area but he dragged his shot wide, then ten minutes later he blazed over from 12 yards after his own header had deflected off Darren Williams.
Wimbledon might have equalised eight minutes after Saha's opener, but John Hartson's deflected shot was brilliantly turned wide by Maik Taylor.
The game was settled just before the hourmark by a clear-cut penalty decision. Alan Kimble clattered into Boa Morte and Saha sidefooted his 17th goal of the season from the spot.
Moments later, Kelvin Davies pulled off a magnificent one-handed save to tip Lee Clark's dipping volley over for a corner.
Hayles arrived as a late substitute and he capped Fulham's win with a third goal two minutes from time, sliding in Clark's low centre.
