Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes

Paul Scholes is intent on giving Manchester United a lift in the remaining weeks of the season by improving his scoring ratio.

The 30-year-old midfielder took his tally to 10 for the campaign with a brace in the 4-0 FA Cup victory against Southampton at the weekend.

It was the first time since January 22 that Scholes had found the target and he is anxious to keep the momentum going with Fulham their opponents on Saturday at Old Trafford.

"I haven't scored for a while so it was nice to get back on the scoresheet, " he said.

"It is nice to get into double figures and now I hope to get a few more."
