Fulham have abandoned their plans to snap up a striker before the transfer window slams shut on Friday.
Jean Tigana had been determined to land a replacement for long-term forward casualty Barry Hayles, out until next season with a neck vertebrae injury.
But the Cottagers boss revealed on Monday that all transfer market dealings are off and he will instead keep faith with front trio Steve Marlet, Facundo Sava and Louis Saha.
Tigana, asked if the plan was still to recruit a new frontman, said: "No, we've stopped that and we're staying with the same team."
Fulham chief executive Bruce Langham disclosed a fortnight ago that the club were chasing "two or three" targets.
One was Sergei Rebrov, the £11million Tottenham flop now Fenerbahce-bound.
The Cottagers blamed the Ukrainian's agent Sandor Varga for the collapse of the move.
They said a deal was completed but he then raised his "personal concerns" and the move fell apart.
However, Varga said uncertainty over Tigana's future - his contract expires in the summer and he has given no hint he wants to renew it - concerned Rebrov.
